Research:

Tally Hall’s music video for their first song Good Day in the Marvin Marvellous Mechanical Museum, directed by band member, musician and filmmaker Joe Hawley inspired me of the way I want to display the film in the first place. The erratic and rapid transitions has got my brain hooked onto it without feeling agitated, and the amount of analogue TV or old TV screens used is very intriguing. The change of perspective wasn’t applicable in my film narratives, but this music video has been very successful in telling a simple story in a playful yet abstract way

I have also looked at glitch art experimental film online where errors and distraction can be aesthetisized int films, I become inspired to recreate such effects to tailor the film into the immersive environment’s dramatic settings.

After the research, I begin storyboarding the film.

In my storyboards I have listed many possible events, but after considering the amount of time audience might actually be exposed to my film is probably only 2-3 minutes, plus the amount of workload, I ended up choosing 5 part of the storyboards to continue with in the actual shooting. With everything planned in the drawings, the actual shooting was very easy. Starred by Stefan, we even connect some dots of the environment and character in this process.
